437th Operations Group

The 437th Operations Group provides combat-ready C-17A aircrews, mission support personnel and processes for 55 assigned aircraft to meet White House, Department of State and Joint Chiefs of Staff-directed global deployment, employment and resupply of Department of Defense and allied forces via air land and airdrop operations. The 437th OG also conducts worldwide emergency nuclear, aero medical, humanitarian and combat airlift operations. It is the only C-17A unit with a CJCS-directed 24-hour special operations low level II alert requirement in support of U.S. special operations forces.

437th Maintenance Group

The 437th Maintenance Group is responsible for maintaining 55 C-17 aircraft valued at $11.1 billion through a workforce of four squadrons comprised of 1,800 military and civilian personnel supporting Department of Defense tactical airdrop, worldwide airlift and aeromedical evacuation support. Additionally, the group oversees a budget of $32 million and develops long-range logistics support for Joint Base Charleston's flying activities.
